2020 Programming Update
Dear SSPYSA Families,
It's time for another update. With Gov Walz extending the stay-at-home order through the 18th, we've been unable to move forward with finalizing any plans to get soccer operations back up and running yet. We have several alternatives drafted, but are waiting on additional details before making any announcements. We are expecting another major update from Gov Walz this week ahead of the stay-at-home expiration, and will be making some final decisions this Thursday night after our board convenes a supplemental meeting.
As of right now, TCSL is still expecting to complete a modified competitive league schedule, with games to begin in June. They have collaborated with Youth Baseball/Softball to recommend to the Governor's office a five-stage program to resume activities. South Saint Paul has given us guidance that while the parks are open and available for personal use, they are not allowing any organized activities beyond a handful of people, and have mandated all sports organizations to refrain from activity. Please respect these guidelines so that we can all return to safe activity sooner.
Expect another update by Friday morning on both competitive and recreational programs. Thanks for your patience as we work thoughtfully through how to provide the safest & most valuable soccer experience possible in 2020.
