REFUNDS

  • All requests for refunds MUST BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING TO THE REGISTRAR.  Requests may be made via email to the registrar listed on the association website or mailed to SSPYSA – REGISTRAR PO Box 44, South St. Paul, MN 55075.  Refunds will not be issued without a written request.

  • All refunds will be issued at one time after the start of the season.  Traveling refunds will be issued on or about May 15th.  In-House refunds will be issued on or about June 15th.

 

In-house Refunds

Involuntary Drops:

  • If SSPYSA cannot provide an opportunity for a registered player (i.e. waiting list registration or dropped age group), that player shall receive a full refund of the registration fees.

  • If SSPYSA expels a player from the program for misconduct or parental misconduct prior to the beginning of the season, that player shall receive a partial refund of 50% of the registration fees.

  • If SSPYSA expels a player from the program for misconduct or parental misconduct after the start of the season, that player shall not receive a refund of the registration fees.

Voluntary drops:

If a player voluntarily drops for any reason including injury, the player shall receive a refund per the following schedule: 

  • Prior to April 1st – Full refund (minus online fees incurred by SSPYSA if applicable)

  • After April 1st but before first game of season – 50% refund

  • After first game of season – No refund

 

Traveling (Competitive) Refunds 

Involuntary Drops:

  • If SSPYSA cannot provide an opportunity for a registered player, that player shall receive a full refund of any paid registration fees including the deposit.

  • If SSPYSA expels a player from the program for misconduct or parental misconduct prior to the beginning of the season, that player shall receive a partial refund of any paid fees. The refund shall be fees paid in excess of  50% of the registration fees.

  • If SSPYSA expels a player from the program for misconduct or parental misconduct after the start of the season, that player shall not receive a refund of any paid fees.

 

Voluntary drops:

If a player voluntarily drops for any reason including injury, the player shall receive a refund per the following schedule: 

  • Prior to March 1st – Refund of fees paid minus the deposit

  • After March 1st but before first game of season – 50% refund of fees paid

  • After first game of season – No refund

SSPYSA POLICIES

SSPYSA Behavior Policies and Sanctions

SSPYSA is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for the youth and adult members of our association.  We are also committed to representing the community of South St Paul in a positive way. As a member of MYSA, we are bound by the policies defined by MYSA with regards to drug, alcohol, and tobacco use.  Below is an abbreviated summary of those policies published as of 1/1/07:

 

8.2 Prohibited Behavior

8.2.1 Policy Statement

a. MYSA is committed to promoting an environment that is free from: harassment and violence in any form; verbal or physical intimidation; vandalism; drug, alcohol or tobacco use; gambling; and inappropriate language.

b. These policies apply to all players, coaches, referees, club officials or administrators registered with MYSA; MYSA officials and administrators; and spectators.

c. These policies shall be enforced at all MYSA and US Youth Soccer sponsored or sanctioned activities, including, but not limited to, league games, State Cup games, invitational tournaments, district and state tournaments, and SS/ODP competition. These policies shall also apply to activities outside Minnesota.

8.2.2 Types of Prohibited Behavior

The following behaviors are prohibited. Any behavior that is not listed but violates the general spirit and intent of is this rule is also prohibited and subject to the same sanctions as described in paragraph 8.3.

8.2.2.10 Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco Use

Drug use is the possession or ingestion, consumption, inhalation, or other use of a controlled substance. Alcohol use is the possession or ingestion of alcohol in any form. Tobacco use is the possession or ingestion of tobacco in any form.

8.3 Sanctions

8.3.1 Sanctions

a. Violations of these policies may result in the imposition of any of the following sanctions: verbal or written warning; game(s) suspension; partial or full season suspension; suspension for a defined period of time, temporary or permanent banishment.

b. Players and coaches are cautioned that the sanctions imposed for violation of these policies are in addition to any discipline which may be imposed by the referee during an MYSA sanctioned game.

c. Violations of these policies shall be reported to the appropriate District Director as well as the Vice President of League Operations for assignment to the appropriate individual for investigation and disposition.

 

SSPYSA specific clarifications and/or additions:

Sanctions:

The SSPYSA Board of Directors will apply the following sanctions for violations of the MYSA drug and alcohol policy:

1.    First Offense: Suspension from all team activity for the duration of two MYSA sanctioned matches or two weeks, whichever is longer.

2.    Second Offense: Suspension from all team activity for the duration of six MYSA sanctioned matches or three weeks, whichever is longer.

3.    Third Offense: Suspension from all team activity for the balance of the season.

4.    These sanctions are the minimum penalties that will be applied and may be increased by the Board or increased by the coach w/ approval of the Board.

 

  • Any sanctions imposed on a SSPYSA athlete of varsity eligible age may be reported as allowed and/or required to the appropriate high school athletic department.

  • These policies will be enforced during the SSPYSA soccer season.  The season is defined as starting on the first day of any organized team activity (i.e. team practice, kick-off meeting, etc.) and ending on the last day of organized team activity.
